Interested in the history of Bridgewater? Do you have a picture, piece of memorabilia or a story to tell about your family and memories of life and living this Adelaide Hills community?
The Mt Lofty Districts Historical Society is hosting a special event at the Bridgewater Hall on Saturday May 12, 2012, as part of South Australia’s annual history festival so you can come and share your memories, or just sit back and learn something new about the place where you live.
The event will showcase historic images from the Society’s own collection on a big screen for all to see, and lead the audience in a discussion about the history of the Bridgewater district.

Lawyers at Altitude, with Peter Moore

Coventry Memorial Library, Stirling
Legal historian Peter Moore has worked as a lawyer and archivist, a publisher and editor, adult educator, and tour guide. In this presentation marking the 175th anniversary of the first admissions to the practice of the Supreme Court in May 1837, he will describe an emerging judicial system and the legal practitioners who applied law and order in the Adelaide Hills in the early years of settlement.
